"The Flash - Feature Film"
As part of the Vehicles Team on The Flash, I contributed to several key assets and environments throughout the film, particularly in the high-intensity city chase sequences. My primary responsibilities included the Black and White 18-wheeler truck and Blue Gleason truck featured in the bridge scene, as well as the large modular bridge assets with road markings, barriers, and other essential components. This bridge sequence involved extensive use of UDIM tiles for texturing, which presented a significant challenge in optimizing large-scale assets within Substance Painter.
During the city chase, I also worked on the traffic lights using a variation workflow in 3ds Max and Substance Painter. This involved creating different texture and lighting variations for the traffic lights, which required careful planning and optimization for multiple versions. Managing this workflow effectively added a unique technical challenge to the project.
In addition to the chase sequences, I developed various construction elements like bollards, building facades, and other road barriers that contributed to the realism and continuity of the scene leading up to the bridge.
Beyond the chase scenes, I contributed to damaged vehicles in the underground car park at the hospital and various background vehicles used in other city scenes. My work extended to smaller environment elements, including the hospital courtyard flag and flagpole, the baby room and lab props, and additional environment assets across different scenes.
