I worked as a Texture Artist on this vibrant, painterly-style production, focusing on environments and various assets. My contributions included texturing trees in the forest, as well as creating distinct assets like skateboards, crystal clusters, rocks, and sap shaders. The project had a unique aesthetic, blending realism with a hand-painted look—each texture was carefully color-matched in Photoshop, drawing from real-world texture maps while maintaining a stylized, almost storybook feel.
One of the key challenges was adapting to the intricate design motifs developed by the design team, such as swirls and spirals that appeared across bark, moss, and other natural elements, creating a consistent and recognizable style throughout the show. This was one of my first productions, and the experience was invaluable for developing my skills in hand-painting textures and stylization, which allowed me to draw from my traditional painting background. Despite being a short contract, I gained a lot from working on these assets and enjoyed bringing this colourful, vibrant world to life.
